Canvas 4 pre-bookings begin, Micromax

Canvas 4 pre-bookings begin, Micromax to reveal price and specs on July 8

Micromax Canvas 4 is now available for pre-bookings on company's website, though the official specs of the phone are nowhere in sight.
Micromax has announced that it will formally launch the Canvas 4 on July 8, when the specifications and other details of the phone, including the price, will be revealed. However, as promised earlier, Micromax is now letting customers interested in getting early access to its forthcoming flagship pre-book the device online for Rs. 5,000.
When the official price of the phone is revealed, users will have seven days to pay the rest of the amount or cancel the pre-booking. In case of a cancellation, Micromax says it will process the refund within 7-10 days. Canvas 4 will start shipping on July 10, and Micromax is promising to deliver your unit within 7 business days thereafter. You can check out the rest of the terms of pre-booking on Micromax's website.
The only thing we know for sure so far is the Micromax Canvas 4 will come with a 13-megapixel camera, since that bit is apparent in the teaser videos that Micromax posted earlier. Another interesting bit that is official, is the "Can life be endless?" line that Micromax is using to tease the Canvas 4. The line obviously seems like a reference to the battery life, and one wonders if one of the highlights of the Canvas 4 will be a big battery.
Micromax will likely need that big battery, give the Canvas 4 is said to sport a full-HD display

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung Launches 8” and 10.1” Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung Launches 8” and 10.1” Galaxy Tab 3Samsung announced today it will be releasing both 8 inch and 10.1 inch versions of the Galaxy Tab 3. Both devices will be available globally this month, offering an expanded range of options not available on the already released 7 inch Tab 3, released in April.
The 8 inch tablet is a media-phile’s dream, with 1,280×800 pixel display.  This makes for excellent photo viewing, gaming, and e-book reading.  It also sports a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera, and 1.3 megapixel front camera.
The 10.1 inch version has a 1.6-GHz dual core processor, which Samsung is calling a “comprehensive suite of video, music, and photo software.” It has Smart Remote and MHL capabilities, which makes it an excellent home media controller.
Both versions include Wi-Fi and run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, as well as pre-installed apps like Samsung’s Sound alive for Audio and Dolby Surround for Video Play.
In their company release, Samsung stated: “Whether surfing the Web or reading during the commute, each device is packed with enhanced content and intuitive design for…capturing all of life’s spontaneous moments”.
This blogger is pretty excited for these Galaxy Tabs. I have two kids who, like most in their generation, are media savvy, and get me addicted to RPGs. As well, like any proud, and incredibly annoying parent, I like to capture every ‘milestone’ my kids have, which is usually just them running around in their underwear.
Anyone else excited for these?

HTC Butterfly S

HTC Butterfly S Officially Leaked

HTC Butterfly S Officially Leaked

HTC has just made the Butterfly S official and it's a significant bump over the first Butterfly. The smartphone is powered by a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 - the same as the one in the Samsung Galaxy S4 - and has 2GB of RAM.
It's built around the same 5" display boasting full HD resolution and a pixel density of 440ppi. Internal storage is 16GB, and as is usually the case, HTC has teamed up with Dropbox to provide 25GB of free cloud storage for 2 years. MicroSD card support is available, too
The HTC Butterfly S is supposedly the phone in a few newly leaked images, coming from Chinese website VR-Zone, which, also claims to know a couple of other details. The new HTC Butterfly S, which follows in the footsteps of the J Butterfly (or Droid DNA), is set to be unveiled by the company at a press event in Taiwan on June 19th, but details about the device are pretty scarce at the moment.
                                                          HTC Butterfly S Officially Leaked

The pictures show a device that’s very similar to its predecessor in terms of design. The quoted source says will have a 5-inch Full HD display. This only comes to confirm previous rumors, which were mentioning the same screen size. The website also mentions that the new device would have BoomSound speakers (and you can see that in the pictures, too), thus giving up on the back speaker.
This is seen even more clearly in these other images, which you can take a look at below.Another thing you’ve probably noticed in the images is that the device has the Sense 5 interface on top of Android.
According to previous rumors, the HTC Butterfly S will come with an internal memory of 16GB (but you’ll also get a microSD card slot on board, so you’ll be able to add more to it), a better CPU in comparison to the HTC One, and an Ultrapixel camera. The handset will cost around $670 according to a recent report. Not much else is known about the device, but the launch event is only a week away, so we’re a short while from finding out.

Not much has changed in terms of visuals, and the Butterfly S looks more or less the same as its predecessor, safe for its thickness and different color variations - red, white, gray - and some details here and there. The most prominent of which is the metal ring surrounding the camera glass at the back.
Measuring 144.5 x 70.5 x 10.6mm, the Butterfly S weighs 160 grams and is significantly thicker than before. That's because under the hood, there's a 3200mAh battery, a lot bigger than the original Butterfly's 2020mAh unit. Connectivity options are the usual for a high-end offering and include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC, GPS.
